These Airline Standard Compliant Pet Carriers comply with Air NZ pet transport requirements. They are comprised of an upper an lower section which allows them to be disassembled for easy space saving storage when not in use.

The carriers come in three styles based on the size:

• Mini, Small and Medium are all heavy duty plastic construction, metal door, with carry handle on top
• Large – Metal mesh air vents, heavy duty metal door, with carry handle on top
• X-Large, XX-Large, Giant and Monster, Metal mesh air vents, Heavy duty metal door, with removable wheels

IMPORTANT

It is critical for you to measure your dog’s dimensions, so that you can determine the appropriate size that will comply with your Airline’s requirements. Dogs must be able to stand up and turn around. Airlines will refuse to accept crates that are too small. The biggest issue for some breeds is the body length, which may require a much larger carrier than expected. We will only send carriers once customers have measured their dog and confirmed suitability of the selected size.

Returns of incorrectly selected carriers will only be accepted for re-saleable units (unused / with all packaging intact), and return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

Please note: All carriers are now shipped direct to you from the supplier in NZ.

**XL, XXL, Giant and Monster Carriers are shipped by pallet via Toll. They will only deliver to business addresses – alternatively you can arrange to collect from the nearest Toll Freight Depot.**

IATA Requirements

The critical dimensions that you will need to check are;

A = length from nose to the base of the tail

B = distance from the ground to elbow on front leg

C = width of shoulders

D = height when standing normally, from ground to the top of the head

The minimum sizing requirements are:

Minimum height = D + the thickness of any bedding to be used

Minimum length = A + 1/2B  (ie length + half of the ground to elbow height)

Minimum Width = C x 2 (twice the width of the shoulders)

Short faced breeds require an extra 10% larger size.

* Note: the breeds mentioned are typical examples only. Variations in size will occur in all breeds. You must measure your dog’s dimensions to confirm the correct minimum size carrier for the airline that you will be using.
